Baghdad PC Chairman, commander of BOC, Federal Police Chief discuss security in Baghdad

Baghdad (NINA) – Head of Baghdad provincial Council, Kamil Al Zaidi, discussed with Baghdad Operations Command leader, Lt. General Ahmed Hashim and Federal Police Chief, Lieutenant-General Hussein Al Awadi, ways to improve security in Baghdad and address the security breaches that occur in different parts of the capital.

A statement of the Baghdad Governorate quoted Zaidi as confirming "the importance of returning to the security plans implemented in Baghdad and continue to evaluate and follow up on the work of checkpoints deployed in the streets and intersections of the capital."

Zaidi pointed out that "the Baghdadi locals’ security is everyone's responsibility and must be maintained and secured, in addition to the necessity of distancing security files from political interactions that occur between the blocs, which reflect negatively on the Baghdad streets."

Zaidi escaped today an assassination attempt while he was heading from his home to the PC HQ, after being targeted by a sniper rounds at his car in Sadr City, followed by an IED on his convoy, wounding four members of the guards and damaging vehicles in the convoy. /End/
