President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva receive Azerbaijani Eurovision Song Contest 2011 winners

On May 16, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva received the representatives of Azerbaijan, who returned with victory from the Eurovision-2011 Song Contest, organized in Dusseldorf, Germany, Azerbaijani President’s official website reported.
The President congratulated the representatives of Azerbaijan. "You very worthily represented our country at the Eurovision song contest, and gained a great victory. This victory is the victory of our country and is your victory. You have pleased all the people of Azerbaijan with this victory. Certainly you know that immediately after your victory, thousands of people went to streets to celebrate it.
The flag of Azerbaijan waved. We have experienced wonderful milestones. You really worthily represented our country," said Aliyev.
Aliyev said Azerbaijan participated in the Eurovision song contest for the fourth time. "We have shown good results all these years. Of course, this is the best result, this is the top. I can also say that our participation in Eurovision was initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva.
We have joined this contest upon her initiative, and Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Public Television and others have worked very actively for all these years. Every year we were getting closer to victory," said the President.

Expressing his gratitude, Eldar Gasimov said: "I want to congratulate you, because this is our victory, the victory of Azerbaijan".
