Azeri ambassador gives interview to Bulgarian “b2b” magazine

Baku, May 17 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani ambassador to Bulgaria Emil Karimov has given an interview to the country`s “b2b” magazine.
The ambassador spoke about Azerbaijan`s history, culture and geographic position.
He told of the difficult social, economic and political situation existed during the early years of independence of Azerbaijan, Armenia`s military aggression against the country and Khojaly genocide.
The diplomat said when national leader Heydar Aliyev came to power again in 1993 he saved Azerbaijan from the danger of civil war and socio-political split. He added due to political wisdom of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan avoided the danger of isolation from the world community, a cease-fire agreement was signed and serious measures were taken to revive the economy.
Karimov pointed out the national leader`s political course has been continued successfully by President Ilham Aliyev, “as a result of which Azerbaijan is developing rapidly in the world”.
The ambassador also touched upon Azerbaijan-Bulgaria relations, praising bilateral energy cooperation. He also underlined the necessity of development of education, culture, tourism, agriculture cooperation.
