Thai students invited to New Zealand Education Fair 2011

BANGKOK, May 26 (TNA) - Thai students planning to study aboard have been invited to the 17th New Zealand Education Fair 2011, which is scheduled to take place from June 11 to June 12 at Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel in the Thai northern province of Chiang Mai, and Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon Department Store in the Thai capital of Bangkok.

According to the country manager of Thailand for Education in New Zealand, Gewalin Lertrasameewong, New Zealand had been voted the world's most peaceful country. Around 3,000 Thai students had decided to pursue their education their each year, half of which attended high schools and the rest studied English language. Ten scholarships had been granted by the New Zealand government to Thai students annually, as well as additional scholarships from the country's eight other universities.

Gewalin said that representatives from over 40 educational institutions in New Zealand were currently available for further consultation with parents, while students were able directly apply for scholarships and talk to the alumni.

Many Thai students had chosen to study in New Zealand during the past 50 years due to its safe environment, good learning atmosphere and low-levels of pollution. (TNA)
