DGB Financial to debut on Seoul bourse next week

SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) -- DGB Financial Group Co., the holding company of regional lender Daegu Bank, will start trading its shares on the Seoul main bourse next week, the local bourse operator said Wednesday.
The Korea Exchange (KRX) said in an e-mailed statement that shares of DGB Financial will be listed on the main bourse on Tuesday.
Shares of Daegu Bank, which is currently being traded on the Seoul main bourse, will be delisted upon its holding company's market debut, according to the KRX.
DGB Financial has three affiliates under its wing, including Daegu Bank based in the southeastern city of Daegu. The holding company was established in May in a bid to foray into the asset management and consumer finance sectors.
The move came on the heels of the launch of BS Financial Group Inc., the holding firm for top regional lender Busan Bank, in March, which aims to diversify untapped business fields.
Daegu Bank posted a net profit of 100.7 billion won (US$93.5 million) in the January-March period, down 6 percent from a year earlier.
