Laos and China trade co-operation expanded
VIENTIANE,MAY.(KPL) - Laos and China Business Forum were officially held in Vientiane on 27 May to strengthen and expand trade co-operation.
The one day function was jointly chaired by Mr. Kitsana Vongsay, Chairman of the National Chamber of Industry and Commerce and visiting Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and President of China Chamber of International Commerce Mr. Wan Jifei. Madam Khemmany Pholsena, Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce and representative from Chinese Embassy was also invited to attend.
The relation on economy between Laos and China has rapidly increased in which the investment from China in the past few years has reached 340 projects with the total investment of US$ 2.6 billion. The investment projects are almost in the field of hydropower development, mining, trade, banking, telecommunication, tourism, hotels, restaurants, construction material and agricultural production.
In order to boost the trade relation between Laos and China, the Lao National Chamber of Industry and Commerce and its counterpart from China have to find the ways and means to promote trade between Laos and China, said press release.
