STATE HEAD RECEIVES PRIME MINISTER OF RUSSIA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In a scope of his official visit, the President Ts.Elbegdorj received Wednesday V.V.Putin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation (RF).
The State Head has noted Mongolia keeps the traditional and friendly relations with Russia, and that the countries have been developing their cooperation at the strategic partnership level. Mentioning that this year celebrates the 90th anniversary of the diplomatic relations, the President has thanked the Russian PM for attention paid to developing the relations and for taking decisive measures.
V.Putin has noted that the trade turnover between Mongolia and Russia increased 42 per cent in 2010 and by 50 per cent this year. He has said he believes that Mongolian President's visit will have a vital importance in forward the bilateral relations.
The President has spoken about some troubles Mongolia has been facing recently in agriculture, mining, public transport and other sectors due to a shortage of oil products which are exported from Russia, and requested the Russian PM to pay attention to this situation. Mr. Putin has ordered I.I.Sechin, the Deputy Premier of Russia, and other officials to study opportunity to supply oil products to Mongolia from reserves of the “Rosneft” company.
The sides have raised an issue of a cooperation in the “Ulaanbaatar Railway” joint venture, sharing views on updating the 1949 protocol on establishing the joint stock venture. They have decided to continue considering this matter.
They have underlined an importance of the collaboration in the nuclear sphere, and agreed to pay attention to ensuring of the preparation for launching activities of the “Dornod Uranium” company.
The sides have expressed a mutual satisfaction with starting of a joint program on making livestock healthier. Mr. Putin has reported that Russia is about to send 37 million dozes of vaccines for livestock and 22 sterilization machines. In the first turn, four million vaccines will be sent soon. He has said an inspector has been sent to Mongolia to test beef in accordance with a request of the Mongolian side, and that a permission will be given to Mongolia in the nearest future for supplying Russia with beef.
The President Elbegdorj has thanked the Russian side for urgent steps to abolish difficulties of zud natural disaster whioch occurred last year and for augmenting number of Mongolian students studying in Russia.
Present at the meeting were officials accompanying the President; I.I.Sechin, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia; I.Ye.Levitin, the Minister of Transport; Ye.B.Skrynnik, the Minister of Agriculture; A.Borodavkin, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; S.Chemizov, a head of the Russia-Mongolia Council for Russian side and president of the “Rostechnology” corporation; S.Kiriyenko, a head of the “RosAtom” corporation; and V.I.Yakunin, the president of the “Russian Railways” venture.
