Mongolia president to meet Buddhists of St Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, June 2 (Itar-Tass) -- Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin
Elbegdorj, who continues his official visit to Russia in St. Petersburg,
will meet with Buddhists of St. Petersburg on Thursday.
Elbegdorj has already hold a meeting with governor of St. Peptersburg
Valentina Matviyenko at which the sides agreed to develop interaction in
the spheres of economy, culture, tourism and education.
Petersburg is one of the leading world centres of Mongolian studies.
The Chair of Mongolian and Tibetan Studies exists at the Oriental
Department of the St. Petersburg State University since 1885; the
Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the
Department of Ethnography of Peoples of Eastern and South-Eastern Asia in
the Cabinet of Curiosities, the Institute Oriental Manuscripts of the
Russian Academy of Sciences and the Society of Mongolia's Friends work in
the city.
