PRESIDENT MEETS A.TORSHIN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, the President Ts.Elbegdorj met A.Torshin, an acting chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, in Moscow.
The Mongolia-Russia ties are special. The Mongolians have not forgotten the Russian soldiers' deeds for Mongolia's peace and development, the state head has said. He is delighted that the new trends are boosting in our ties, he has added.
The President has emphasized an importance of the regional and boundary ties, noting tnat over 70 per cent of the trade turnover is done in regional frames. He has said he believes Mr. Torshin would give a support to drawing up and realizing a joint plan for the regional and boundary ties.
He has mentioned that the cooperation in humanity, education, culture and arts have been intensifying, and that Mongolian representatives have been taking part in annual Baikal Economic Forum organized by the Federal Council of Russia. “Mongolian will participate in this year forum,” he has added.
Mr. Elbegdorj has said the inter-parliamentary relations are considered important for the Mongolia-Russia relations and cooperation developed in many spheres. Parliamentary delegations visit each other regularly, he has said and thanked Russian side for taking part in the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) held this year in Ulaanbaatar.
In turn, Mr. Torshin has congratulated the President on a successful visit to Russia, and underlined that Mongolia is the closest neighbor of Russia. He has expressed a confidence that this visit will enrich the relations and cooperation with new contents.
The sides have shared views on improving the ties and cooperation, especially in infrastructure, transport and defense.
