TS.ELBEGDORJ ARRIVES IN SAINT PETERSBURG

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj left Wednesday for Saint Petersburg continuing his official visit to the Russian Federation (RF).
Firstly, at Piskariovskoye Memorial Cemetery he has laid wreths to monument for soldiers who protected the city during the World War Two. Then he got acquainted with items related to the Golden Horde State and treasure house of the Hermitage Museum. The museum has many exhibits that confirm a contribution of the Mongolians to the history of humankind, such as memorials of Hun Empire found from Noyon Mountain, a silver Gerege used by Chingis Khaan, silver stamps inherited from Mongolian kings, gifts presented to Russian emperors in 17-18th centuries and other things.
The President has seen manuscripts related to the Mongolian history and culture at the Institute of Oriental Graphology at the Academy of Sciences of Russia. This institute has some 8,000 manuscripts.
Ts.Elbegdorj has visited the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after the Peter the Great, that shelters some 42 thousand photos about history and culture of the world countries including rare photos about Mongolia.
