Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister holds series of meetings

Baku (AzerTAc) - Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov met with a speaker of the Swedish Parliament Per Westerberg as part of his visit to Sweden and Finland.
The parties discussed prospects of cooperation between the parliaments of two countries, focusing on the role of two countries` legislative bodies in development of bilateral relations.
As part of the visit to Finland, Khalafov held meetings with Under-Secretary of State of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland Jaakko Laajava and Chief of the Ministry`s department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Nina Vaskunlati. Expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Finland in all spheres, prospects of relations in the framework of international organizations, as well as, Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict and other issues were discussed at the meetings. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Sweden and Finland Rafael Ibrahimov was present at the meetings.
Khalafov also met with the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Finnish Parliament Timo Soini, Deputy Minister of Employment and the Economy of Finland Erkki Virtanen. Azeri official briefed the Finnish Deputy Minister on economic reforms in Azerbaijan, adding that the development of bilateral economic and trade relations would be for the benefit of both sides.
