STATE HEAD MEETS STANFORD UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The State Head Ts.Elbegdorj has met professors of the Stanford University Francis Fukuyama, Larry Diamond, Michael Armacost, Stephen D. Krasner, Coit D.Blacker and Beatriz Magaloni.
The scholars have congratulated the President on his participation in the development of democracy in Mongolia, and shared views with him on the democracy.
Mr. Fukuyama has said he is studying the ways Mongolia has been developing the democracy, adding he is writing a book about it.
Prof. Diamond has emphasized an importance of civil education and monitoring for any democratic society, and pointed out that the state without education, studies and control is harmful to the democracy. He has added that a transparent and corruption-free government is the guarantee of democracy.
The gap between richness and poverty is a shadow side of the democracy, Mrs. Magaloni has said, underlining that the stronger a middle-class, the more ensured the democracy.
The sides also have talked about international events.
At the end of the meeting, the State head invited the visitors to Mongolia.
