“Round table” on Azerbaijan-Italy relations held in Italian Senate

Baku, June 16 (AzerTAc). A round-table meeting on the Azerbaijan-Italy relations was held at the Italian Senate. Members of the Azerbaijani parliament (Milli Majlis) - chairman of International and Interparliamentary Relations Committee of Azerbaijani Parliament Samad Seyidov and chairman of the working group on Azerbaijan-Italy interparliamentary relations Azer Karimli attended the round-table as part of their visit to Italy.
Members of the Italian Senate and Chamber of Deputies, representatives of Italian research centers and media also attended the event. Azerbaijani ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov, representatives of Italy`s Foreign Ministry and Economic Development Ministry, Rome-based International Relations Institute made reports on the present situation and prospects of Azerbaijan-Italy relations.
The visit took place at the invitation of head of the Italy-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group of the Italian Senate Rossana Boldi.
During the visit the Azeri MPs held meetings with deputy chairman of the standing commission on foreign policy of the Italian Senate Alberto Filippi and chairman of the Chamber of Deputies` standing commission on foreign policy Stefano Stefani. The parties exchanged views on prospects of development of interparliamentary ties.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov also attended the meetings.
