Georgia’s tourism opportunities presented in Baku

Baku, June 18 (AzerTAc). The Georgian embassy in Baku has held a presentation on the country`s tourism opportunities at the “AF Hotel-Aqua Park” resort complex in Novkhani.
The presentation was attended by Georgian embassy staffers, members of the general public and media representatives.
Addressing the event, head of the Georgian National Tourism Agency, Maya Sidamonidze, said a series of events were expected to be held as part of the Georgian Days in Azerbaijan.
Sidamonidze underlined the importance of Azerbaijan`s tourism potential for Georgia.
“Some 498,000 out of 2 million tourists who visited Georgia last year were Azerbaijanis. And in the first five months of this year Azerbaijan ranks second in terms of the number of tourists visiting Georgia. Azerbaijan`s tourism market is of particular importance to us, this is why we hold this presentation in Azerbaijan.”
Deputy Head of the tourism department at Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Mahir Gahramanov, spoke of the cultural and tourism relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
He highlighted Azerbaijan`s tourism opportunities.
“The fact Azerbaijan`s tourism is developing on the regional scale proves that the country`s tourism potential has already integrated into the world tourism system.”
Gahramanov also noted “Wine Way” project with Georgia and “Alexander Dumas in Caucasus” cultural and tourism regional project. The ceremony featured the performance of Georgian folk music, exhibition of wines, photos, drawings and souvenirs.
