Tallinn hosts seminar on International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions

Baku, June 18 (AzerTAc). A seminar dedicated to application of International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) was held in Tallinn, Estonia.
A delegation of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan attended the seminar.
The aim of the seminar designed for Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) managers was to raise global, regional and national awareness of XX INCOSAI-adopted ISSAIs in accordance with the Johannesburg Declaration by using the ISSAI structure as a reference point.
The seminar emphasized in the first place that the contents of ISSAIs need to be clarified and adopted before they are implemented, and expressed confidence that the recommendations made by the chairs of INTOSAI`s Financial Audit and Compliance Audit Subcommittees will be useful in the work of SAIs.
The seminar featured reports on the experience of Estonian, Sweden, Russian and Romanian SAIs and focused on the structure, alternatives and advantages of ISSAI implementation in the area of financial and compliance audits.
