Turkish artillery bomb border areas in Kurdistan region following similar Iranian bombing

Baghdad (NINA) – Border areas in Kurdistan region were subjected on Tuesday afternoon, June 21, to Turkish artillery bombing of areas surrounding Sidkan district, east of Erbil.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site reported that the bombing included the villages of Ari and Gely Rehsh and that unidentified war planes flew over the area.

The site did not give details on the losses suffered from the bombing.

Earlier in the day, Iranian artillery bombed areas in Choman district, in Kurdistan region close to Iran’s borders; the bombing then expanded to include Haj Omran area; the size of losses is not known.
