Azerbaijan, US discuss military cooperation
Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, colonel-general Safar Abiyev has today met US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander.
The Azeri Minister underlined the importance of military cooperation between the two countries.
Abiyev informed Mrs. Wallander about military and political situation in the region and problems caused by Armenia to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Wallander said US was interested in military cooperation with Azerbaijan.
She also stressed the necessity of expanding these relations.
During the meeting, US ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza introduced the country`s new military attache, colonel Daniel Grillo to Safar Abiyev.
