Kazakhstan seeks OEDC membership - Kazakh prime minister.

ASTANA, June 28 (Itar-Tass) - Kazakhstan seeks membership in the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Kazakhstan's
Prime Minister Karim Masimov wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
"I met with Secretary General of the Organization for Economic
Cooperation and Development Angel Gurria and voiced Kazakhstan's intention
to become OECD member state," he wrote. Masimov is currently on an
official visit to France.
On Monday, he met with his French counterpart Francois Fillon. The two
prime ministers signed a number of intergovernmental agreements. They
agreed to hold in 2013-2014 a week of Kazakhstan's culture in France and a
week of French culture in Kazakhstan. They also reached agreements on
issues of the peaceful use of atomic energy. Apart from it, cooperation
contracts were signed between Eurocopter helicopter manufacturer and
Kazakhstan Engineering Co, and between France's nuclear concern Areva and
Kazatomprom.
