Bateekh urges political leaders to distance themselves from orientations that could divide Iraq
Baghdad (NINA) – Secretary General of the White Iraqiya Slate, Jamal Al Bateekh urged the leaders and members of the political blocs to “cling to national unity and aloof from orientations that could cause Iraq’s division into regions.”
In a press statements, Bateekh said today that “it is the political blocs’ leaders and members duty to put Iraqi lines unity as their goal, since it is the corner stone for development of Iraq; economically, politically, and socially.”
He continued “we hope that Parliament Speaker’s statements would not be negatively reflected on the Iraqi street that could interpret as orientations to establish a region for Sunnis. We trust that Nujeifi is keen on Iraqis’ interests, away from orientations that do not serve public interests.”
