Mongolia prioritizes coop with RF and PRC - ambassador.

BEIJING, June 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Ulan Bator prioritizes cooperation
with Russia and China in its foreign policy. Alongside with this, Mongolia
intends to develop ties with other countries, ambassador of Mongolia to
the People's Republic of China Tsedenzhav Sukhbaatar told journalists here
on Thursday.
"Mongolia has established relations of strategic partnership with
Russia," the diplomat said. "Aid rendered by the former Soviet Union to
Ulan Bator in creating the infrastructure is also taken into account while
planning Mongolia's foreign economic activity." "We want to build a
railway connecting us with the Trans-Siberian Railway to enter the markets
of the Asia-Pacific region," he explained. "Our railway built with
assistance of the USSR differs by the width of its gauge, for example,
from the Chinese one, therefore, in this issue we'll cooperate with the
Russian side and take its interests accordingly."
"Long-term economic cooperation remains to be a basis for developing
relations of strategic partnership between Mongolia and China," Sukhbaatar
said. "China attracts us by its geographical closeness, the possibility of
the country's shortest exit to the sea via its territory, as well as by
the fact that the Chinese dynamically developing economy enables us to
solve issues of our development."
"Of course, there is an apprehension of becoming dependent on one
market, one country," the ambassador admitted. "But we proceed from the
real state of bilateral relations, from the economic situation in
neighbouring countries and in the region as a whole, as well as hope for a
broad participation of investors from other countries."
