Basra governor: Faw Port building would solve unemployment in Basra, southern Iraq
Basra (NINA) – Basra governor, Khalaf Abdul Samad stressed that “solving the unemployment problem completely, depends on building the Great Faw Port project.”
In a statement to NINA today, after meeting with managers of services offices in Faw District, the governor said “the project would provide more than 50.000 jobs that Basra needs in general, and that Faw needs in particular, eventually, it would decrease unemployment in southern Iraq.”
He continued that the “local government is working on providing 10.000 jobs through a project under study now,” pointing out that "Basra now is opening new horizons with Turkey, after the arrival of the first Turkish plane two days ago, a matter that would help receiving Turkish investors.”
