Arab League Welcomes HH Heir Apparent's Visit to Egypt

Cairo, June 30 (QNA) - The Arab League welcomed on Thursday the visit of HH the Heir Apparent of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to Egypt. It stressed that the visit will help strengthen bilateral ties between Egypt and Qatar.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Palestinian Affairs Mohammed Sobeih said that such visits will help "discuss how to push Arab progress forward," he said. He believes that the visit plays a special role, particularly in light of the Israeli and US position towards the peace process and an independent Palestinian State. He added that HH the Heir Apparent's visit is also important as Qatar has large investments in Egypt which will have impact on promoting bilateral cooperation.
Sobeih praised the Qatari role in supporting joint Arab action and pointed out that the State of Qatar is at the forefront of countries that encourage joint Arab action and investments. He said that such a visit will increase investments.
He said that State of Qatar will head the next United Nations' General Assembly session, which he described as "an important" session as Arab countries will have a lot of work on their hands to stop Israeli attempts to prevent the recognition of an Independent Palestinian State. (QNA)
