Members of Azerbaijan-Iran interparliamentary friendship group meet in Baku

Baku (AzerTAc) - A meeting of members of an Azerbaijan-Iran interparliamentary friendship group took place Friday at Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis.
During the meeting deputy head of the friendship group Eldar Ibrahimov spoke of development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. He described meetings of the Azerbaijani and Iranian parliamentarians as useful for development of relations between the two countries. He added Azerbaijan and Iran must use all existing opportunities to deepen bilateral ties.
Members of the friendship group stressed the necessity of expanding political and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran. They also thanked the Iranian government for supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
The Iranian MPs said they were interested in strengthening good-neighborly and friendly relations with Azerbaijan. They noted Iran supports Azerbaijan`s just position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Iranian MPs said they would always support their Azerbaijani counterparts in international organizations.
The sides also underlined the necessity of intensifying reciprocal visits.
