Najaf governor, Turkish ambassador discuss economic cooperation

Najaf (NINA) – Najaf governor, Adnan Al Zurfi, discussed with the Turkish ambassador to Iraq horizons of expanding cooperation between the two countries, especially the economic, after the inauguration of the first direct flight from Istanbul to Najaf today.

Zurfi said, during the meeting “Turkey is a big Islamic country and we are honored to develop ties with it in accordance to both peoples’ ambitions.”

For his part, the Turkish official hailed “the construction campaign in Najaf in all domains, especially that the Turkish companies are carrying out some of them.”


Mutlag holds Maliki, government, propagandists for regions responsible for dividing Iraq

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from Iraqiya Slate, Hamid Al Mutlag said “despite that the propagandists for establishing regions are not pardoned from the sin, yet, Prime Minister and the government hold responsibility for the destruction of Iraq’s unity.”

He told NINA today that “we hold Maliki and his government responsible for the destruction of Iraq’s unity, whether they knew or did not knew about it due to the unjust being practiced against particular layer of Iraqis, in addition to covering up corruption, wasting Iraq’s riches, starving, and terrifying Iraqis.”

He wondered “what is the government doing regarding the neighboring countries conducts like Iran and Kuwait, in addition to the occupation behaviors, and what is the government doing regarding the daily fires that hides the forged certificates holders and the public money thieves. Isn’t it the government that holds responsible for that?”



Hamoudi, Romanian ambassador discuss investment in Iraq

Baghdad (NINA) – Head of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Humam Hamoudi, discussed with Romanian ambassador to Iraq the formation of parliamentary friendship committees, investment in Iraq, and arming.

A statement issued by Hamoudi office said that both sides discussed bilateral relations and the due visit of the Romanian Parliamentary delegation to Iraq headed by Chairman of the Romanian Parliamentary Foreign Relation Committee.




MP from SLC: US troops stay rejected

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the State of Law Coalition, Abdul Salam Al Maliki, said the US troops will depart according to the dates specified by the security agreement because there is no use of their stay more than the current year.

In a statement to NINA, Maliki added “all political blocs intend to end the US troop existence in Iraq, according to the agreement reached between both countries,” pointing out that those blocs are partners of the government in determining the stay or departure of the US troops.

He went on saying that stance of PM Maliki and Dawa Party is declared and known, rejecting the US troops stay after 2011.

Maliki explained that “the Iraqi security forces managed to control the security dossier for three years now and they do not need the US troops, therefore, there is no need for them to stay, despite the shortage in weapons that are used to protect the borders.”

Talabani, Maliki discuss public status

Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Al Talabani discussed Prime Minister Nouri AL Maliki the public status in Iraq.

A presidential statement said Talabani reviewed during the meeting results of his visits to Iran and Greece and his meetings with leaders of the two countries.

The statement added that the meeting also discussed developments of the political, security and economic domains as part of the continuing coordination and viewpoints exchange. Both sides agreed on the necessity of speeding up holding the meeting between the blocs’ leaders similar to the first meeting held in the President’s office.
