Azerbaijani airline`s plane lost in Afghanistan

Baku, July 6 (AzerTAc). An aircraft Il-76 4K-AZ 55 belonging to Azerbaijan`s Silk Way airline dropped off radar when landing near Bagram airport in Afghanistan on June 6, at 00:10 local time. Air communicator noticed a flash at the 4km altitude, 25 km off the airport.
The plane is believed to have collided with an unidentified object in the air since the crew had not reported any emergency.
The aircraft flying from Baku to Bagram took off July 5, at 21:26 local time from the Heydar Aliyev airport with 18 tons of cargo on board. Before flying to Bagram, the plane traveled to Kuwait without any trouble reported.
The plane built in 2005 underwent a full technical check-up.
The aircraft had 9 crew members aboard. Captain Kuzmin Sergey Viktorovich, 42, flew over 4500 hours.
A commission is being set up to investigate the accident. A group of specialists is scheduled to arrive at a scene.
