Distt (Sialkot): Govt allocates Rs. 1.5 billion special funds for establishing 4 women universities

SIALKOT, July 21, 2011 (PPI):  The provincial government has allocated special funds of Rs. 1.5 billion for establishing four new women universities in Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur with a
 
sole aim to provide quality higher education facilities to the local women at local level.
 
Mansha Ullah Butt (Special Assistant to Punjab CM) disclosed this while talking to the newsmen here today. He said that on the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the provincial government has also earmarked a special chunk of Rs. 540 million for the repairing and reconstruction of those government schools which have the dilapidating and dangerous declared incident buildings across Punjab, besides, allocating Rs. 1 billion for up-gradation of the different government schools to different levels.
 
He said that the PML-N government in Punjab will spend as many as Rs. 4 billion for ensuring the early and smooth provision of all the basic missing facilities in 2500 government schools in Punjab, besides, spending Rs. 1 billion more on the establishment of science laboratories in these government schools with a sole aim to upgrade the science department in these schools. The provincial government would also spend Rs. 550 million for promotion of computer education
 
in PunjabIs all the elementary and high schools.
 
Mansha Ullah Butt revealed that the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has also recently approved a comprehensive educational promotion programme for providing the missing facilities in governmental educational institutions and encouraging the talented and shining students and their teachers as well, as the provincial government has successfully started implementation on this programme.
 
He said that provincial government has also allocated Rs. 2 billion for encouraging the brilliant students of government schools, as the government would give as many as 100,000 laptops as
 
gifts to the brilliant and talented students across Punjab.
 
He added that the government has also allocated Rs. 1.12 billion for encouraging the teachers for showing good results, as the government would also give lucrative cash prizes to the teachers of
 
all the government schools and colleges for showing their outstanding performance.
