HALAL TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMME SET TO ATTRACT 10,000 VISITORS

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Halal Industry Development Corporation
(HDC) expects 10,000 visitors to the two-day Halal Transformation Programme
(HTP) beginning today in Gambang in the east coast state of Pahang.

The exhibition is aimed at gathering halal-related agencies and
entrepreneurs including personnel from the Malaysian Armed Forces, researchers,
academicians, government-linked companies, halal-and multinational
manufacturers.

Prime Minister Najib Razak will visit the exhibition and meet industry
players before the event ends tomorrow, HDC said in a statement Saturday.

Apart from the exhibition, display booths and a one-day seminar on halal
development issues, visitors would also be able to familiarise themselves with
halal programmes, activities and services initiated and provided by HDC for
entrepreneurial development in the industry.
