Committee on appropriations will hopefully take a fair stand, Azeri ambassador to US

Washington, July 30 (AzerTAc). The US House Subcommittee on Appropriations has debated the Fiscal Year 2012 State and Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill earlier on Wednesday.
AzerTAc reporter interviewed Azerbaijan`s ambassador Yashar Aliyev on the issue.
Asked about the Armenian Diaspora`s intentions to secure a $10 million in US assistance to Nagorno-Karabakh in 2012, the ambassador said the embassy keeps this extremely important issue in focus of its attention.
According to the ambassador, the bill will be debated on August 3 again at the meeting of the committee of appropriations. Some aspects of subcommittee`s recommendations do not satisfy the Armenian lobby.
“I hope the committee on appropriations will approve recommendations of the subcommittee and take a fair stand,” he said.
