Azerbaijan became winner of "What? Where? When?” South Caucasus Championship


Baku, August 1 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan has won the first place of the 13th South Caucasus Championship of the intellectual game "What? Where? When?” held in Batumi, Georgia.
Shaig Huseynov`s team mounted the highest step on the podium while Nigar Huseynova`s and Balash Huseynova`s teams ranked second and third places respectively.
Azerbaijani, Georgian and Armenian teams competed for the Grand Cup.
The championship brought together 55 teams from three countries. The jury members are well-known intellectuals and the winners of the "Crystal Owl" - Alexander Druz from St. Petersburg, Alexander Rubin and Ilya Novikov from Moscow and Elena Potanina from Odessa.
The Azerbaijani national team has won five times, the Georgian team four times and the Armenian team three times at 12 championships. The festival held with support of the Batumi Major`s Office and City Council in conjunction with Adjara`s Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
The general sponsor of the championship was the Caucasus Online Company.
