"Kazatomprom" presented strategic plan of development

Astana, 17 September 2008, (Khabar) - Kazakhstan intends to take leading positions at the market of atomic energy.

It is planned to extract about 16 000 tonnes of uranium per year by 2010 and build several plants on uranium enrichment and production of nuclear fuel for electricity station.

And
international scientific centre in sphere of atomic industry and energy will
be opened in Kurchatov town at the Institute of Atomic Energy. Mukhtar
Zhakishev, head of the company says atomic energy become more perspective
sphere in the world because it is connected with deficit of energy that is
expected by 2030. By that time oil, gas and coal will not be able to answer
the demands of the humanity and thermonuclear energy will become alternative
one in some 90 years. Karim Massimov approved the program of development,
which was elaborated by "Kazatomprom" and set up some tasks before the
government. One of tasks is to create special body that will control nuclear
energy and study export prices. The prices must be not lower than market
ones.

main issues, it is as important as oil and gas and we can advance in this
direction.
