Gilani Survey- (62% believe parents should work hard in selecting schools for children: Poll)


ISLAMABAD, August 11, 2011 (PPI): The results of a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan indicated that a considerable majority (62%) of parents feel it is important to make extra or special effort in selecting a better school for their children.

In a survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked the following question: “In your view how important is it to make an extra effort in selecting a better school for children?” Majority (62%) say that it is very important to work hard in selecting a school for children. 29% believe that making this effort is somewhat important. A minority of 9% feel that it is not important at all.

Results also showed that 7% of males were of the view that it is not important to make extra effort for selecting a school for children whereas 13% of females held this view.

“In your view how important is it to make an extra effort in selecting a better school for children?”

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2574 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 10-July 16, 2011. Error margin is estimated to be approximately + 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
