Ministry of Planning: postponing the activation of Quality Control for weak performance

Baghdad (NINA) – Ministry of Planning declared that the decision to postpone the activation of the Quality Control System on the imported goods was adopted by the end of 2010 when the ministry contracted with two world companies from Switzerland to examine all imported goods.

Media department manager of the ministry of planning, Abdul Zahra Al Hindawi, told NINA correspondent that “the decision was adopted due to the weak performance of the QCS and the lack of the human capabilities that could control all imported goods.”

He added that the ministry allocated 6 billion Iraqi dinars to build additional labs in the border points as some of these labs lack QCS equipment.

Hindawi expressed surprise for the accusation of an MP to the ministry of facilitating the work of the bad goods importing mafias, pointing out that this accusation is “absolutely baseless”.

An MP accused the Ministry of Planning of launching an economic war against Iraq and facilitating the work of mafias that are led by some politicians after postponing the activation of the QCS. /End/
