Azerbaijan, Russia: legal cooperation to fight crime

Baku, August 16 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin have discussed issues of legal cooperation between the two countries, mutual activities in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as in international organizations.
During the meeting the sides discussed various questions of mutual interest. Zakir Garalov updated the guest about legal and judicial reforms undertaken in recent years in the country and achievements of prosecutor bodies.
Alexander Bastrykin emphasized that strengthening relations between the investigative agencies of the two countries have great prospects.
According to Bastrykin, the program of cooperation signed between Investigative Committee of Prosecutor`s Office of Russia and the Prosecutor General`s Office of Azerbaijan in September 2010 creates necessary legal basis in fight against crime.
The cooperation program covers a wide range of relations and interaction between the relevant bodies in specific criminal cases, and exchange of experience and information.
