Nujeifi: the Christians are genuine Iraqis, keen on Iraq’s unity

Baghdad (NINA) – Parliament Speaker, Osama Al Nujeifi, discussed with a Christian delegation representing Nineveh Province the Christians’ conditions in Nineveh and the rest of the country.

A statement issued by Nujeifi’s office said that the Parliament Speaker hailed the Iraqi Christians and described them as genuine citizens keen on Iraq’s unity.

Nujeifi declared “the Christians are like any other Iraq; first class citizens, no discrimination between them and others, they enjoy their rights and have duties.”

He demanded providing all required circumstances for the Christians to contribute in building Iraq through staying in Iraq and continue living in it.

For their part, the Christian delegation stressed the deep ties among the Iraqi community’s components and their keenness on enhancing the national tissue. /End/
