Azerbaijani Culture and Art Days due in Canada

Baku, August 24 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijani Culture and Art Days as part of the International Niagara Music Festival will be held in Canada on August 25-29.
According to event`s coordinator, professor of the Baku Music Academy Mikayil Hajiyev, the event will fea demonstration of works by Azerbaijani prominent sculptor, academician Omar Eldarov and People`s Artist of the USSR Tahir Salahov and concerts of national classic and mugham music. Music pieces by Azeri classic composers, as Uzeyir Hajibayli, Gara Garayev, Fikrat Amirov, Jovdat Hajiyev, Tofig Guliyev, Niyazi, Firangiz Alizade and others will be performed in the concerts.
The Silk Road Chamber Orchestra led by Honored Artist of Azerbaijan and Honored International Artist of Niagara Ismayil Hajiyev, Ramiz Guliyev, Sahib Pashazade, Ehtiram Huseynov, Jeffrey Verbakh and others will attend the concerts.
“August 29 is announced Day of Azerbaijani Mugham in Niagara. Niagara is an unique city. Azerbaijani music is very often played in this city. Azerbaijani music and mugham aroused keen interest among the residents of Niagara. That`s why, it is difficult to imagine the festival without Azeri music,” Hajiyev sad.
Niagara will host the opening ceremony of the International Mugham Studio of Azerbaijan as part of Culture and Art Days. The Studio will operate under the Royal Conservatory in Toronto.
Azerbaijan regularly has participated in the Niagara International Music Festival since 2006.
This year`s festival will bring together popular musicians from more than 70 countries.
The Azeri delegation including MPs Arif Rahimzade and Elmira Akhundova left for Toronto on Tuesday.
