PYTHON PARK ATTRACTION IN ULU BENDOL RECREATIONAL FOREST

KUALA PILAH (Malaysia), Aug 29 (Bernama) -- The Ulu Bendol Recreational
Forest, at KM20 of the Seremban-Kuala Pilah road, is a popular picnic spot in
Negeri Sembilan, especially during the weekends.

The 825-metre high Mount Angsi within the forest offers mountain climbers a
challenge and can be accessed by wading through the Batang Terachi river trail.

The forest landscape is suitable for outdoor activities such as camping,
trekking and jungle excursions.

An additional asset to this eco-tourism forest is the Ulu Bendol Python
Park.

Opened in October last year, the park aims to conserve threatened snake
species and educate people about these reptiles.

The Ulu Bendol Recreational Forest and Snake Park are maintained by the
Negeri Sembilan Forest Department.

State Tourism, Unity, Culture, Arts, Heritage and Malay Customs committee
chairman Mohammad Razi Kail said the forest environment made it suitable
for the Park to collect these reptiles from around the world and create public
awareness to prevent them from becoming extint.

"We see the Ulu Bendol Python Park contributing to make this area popular
and where people can see anacondas at close quarters, one of them a Green
Anaconda, weighing 20kg and measuring four metres long," he said.

"I have been told the park has 42 snakes from 11 species. The latest
attraction is the 'Batik Python', weighing 90kg and more than six metres long,"
he added.
