Gas pipeline from Russia to S Korea may help unification - Hong

SEOUL, August 30 (Itar-Tass) - A project to lay a gas pipeline from
Russia to South Korea may contribute to the unification of the two Koreas,
the leader of South Korea's ruling Grand National Party, Hong Joon-pyo,
said on Tuesday commenting on the Russian-North Korean summit.
"If the working negotiations among the three countries' official
representatives (Russia, South Korea and North Korea) end with signing an
agreement and the project's implementation begins, this will open a new
page in the inter-Korean relations," he said.
The South Korean parliamentarian expressed the hope that a tripartite
mutually advantageous energy agreement among Moscow, Soul and Pyongyang
will allow to reduce a price for the import of gas to South Korea.
