Laos, Vietnam sign to further cooperation on culture and tourism
VIENTIANE,SETP1. (KPL)- Laos and Vietnam have agreed to sign an agreement on bilateral cooperation on cultural and tourism in the period of 2012-2015.
Signatories to the document were Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Bosengkham Vongdara and his Vietnamese counterpart (Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism) Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh at the National Culture Hall in Vientiane on 1 September in the presence of both side officials.
The signed agreement also marked the 50th anniversary founding of diplomatic relation between Laos and Vietnam and the 35th anniversary of friendship and cooperation between Lao-Vietnam and the year of solidarity between Lao-Vietnam Friendship this year.
Under the agreement, two sides will jointly organise each other culture and tourism week in Vietnam and Laos. The activities are to provide more understanding on livelihoods of people relying on culture, art and tourism for two people.
They have agreed to further implement the bilateral cooperation in the National Art and Music School under the second phase, granted by Vietnamese government.
Mr. Hoang Tuan Ah said that a memorial book reflecting the achievements of bilateral relationship between two nations will be made.
He added that the Vietnamese government will send the teachers to teach in the music school in Laos.
Minister Bosengkham said that the two sides should further exchange information and lessons ranging from management of accommodations, hotel, and environmental reservation to develop the tourism together.
He pledged to fully support all activities of Vietnam in Laos and the construction of a new Vietnamese Culture building in Vientiane Capital.
He has expressed thanks through Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Vietnam to Vietnam government for providing grant to the construction of National Art and Music School in Laos.
