Baghdad International Cinema Festival due on October

Baghdad (NINA) – Baghdad International Cinema Festival announced its 3rd edition due to be held next month.

The festival manager, Tahir Alwan, said in a press statement today “the coming edition is going to be a turning point in the history of festivals in Iraq and it is going to be the biggest in terms of the variety of programs and the number of participating countries.”

He added “30 countries participated with more than 140 movies; most of them are going to be the premiere show in the Arab Countries, others will the premiere show in Iraq.”

Alwan pointed out that the festival will be an occasion to exhibit the potentials of creativity in different Arab countries and from different generations. More than 20 female directors will participate from Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, UAE, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen, and Algeria.
