Anbar Governor’s advisor announces foiling attacks on the local government HQ
Ramadi (NINA) – Mohammed Fatthi, Media Advisor of the Anbar Governor, announced that the security forces foiled suicide bombing attacks on the local government HQ, downtown Ramadi.
He told NINA correspondent that the car bomb was driven by a suicide bomber who tried to attack the eastern gate of the compound, but, the guards dealt with it and blew that car about 300m away from the compound.
He added that a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest blasted himself near the western entrance of the compound, while, the security forces were engaged with another suicide bomber wearing explosive vest and blew him off before approaching the entrance.
Fatthi pointed out that two security personnel were killed and 15 others were injured, while a source in Anbar Operations Command mentioned that the total deaths reached 7; 4 policemen and 3 civilians, while the injured were 16; 5 of them are policemen, a great number of car burned due to the attack.
