HH the Emir of Qatar Participates in High-Level Meeting on Libya

New York, September 20 (QNA) - HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani participated in the high-level meeting on Libya, which was held on the sidelines of the 66th UN General Assembly session at the UN Headquarters today.
Participated in the meeting also were a number of Presidents and heads of delegations including US President Barack Obama, French President Nicholas Sarkozy, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Chairman of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) Mustafa Abdel Jalil, and UN Secretary General Ban ki-moon.
Addressing the meeting, HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani stressed that the fighting in Libya is yet not over , and that the rebels are required to extend the influence of the new ruling on all Libyan territories .
HH the Emir also underscored the importance of focusing on the restoration of security and stability in Libya, and to assist the Libya's Transitional Council (NTC) on this matter, and that the rebels, the civil society forces and the National Transitional Council (NTC) or the new government are to meet later at a national conference for consultation to agree on ways to strengthen stability in the country.
HH the Emir called for activation of production and service institutions, stressing that it should not be waiting for stability, because the activation of production and service institutions is a factor of stability in Libya.
The meeting was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani as well as a number of members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Emir.
