Damlouji: arrest warrant against Sa’idi, negative indicator against Maliki’s government

Baghdad (NINA) – Official Spokeswoman of the Iraqiya Slate, Maysoun Al Damlouji, stressed that “the arrest warrant issued against the independent MP, Sabah Al Sa’idi, is a negative indicator against the State of Law Coalition and Maliki’s government.”

In a statement to NINA, Damlouji said today that “Sa’idi has the right to express his opinion, his opinion is supported with documents and we should support him, not issue an arrest warrant, because that is a shameful thing to do.”

She added “Maliki should linger before taking these rushed decisions and should listen to the demands of the Iraqi leaders; like Muqtada Al Sadr, leader of the Sadr Trend, and Leader of the IS, Dr. Iyad Allawi, and former Vice-President, Dr. Adel Abdul Mehdi, that are asking him to cancel the arrest warrant.”

Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, filed a lawsuit against Sa’idi for insulting the government within Article 226, a matter that had the Supreme Judicial Council issue an arrest warrant against Sa’idi.

Sa’idi, earlier, accused Maliki of corruption and unilaterally running the government.
