Indo-Bhutan relation an example for other countries: Thinley

Kolkata, Sept 30 (PTI) Bhutan's Prime Minister Jigme Y
Thinley Friday described the relation between his country and
India as an example for other nations to follow.
"Bhutan-India relations are of an exemplary kind. It is
an example for all countries that share a common border with
each other," he told a press conference here in the eastern
Indian city after attending the 114th annual general meeting
of the Mahabodhi Society of India, of which he is the
president.
He said that beyond cultural ties, Indo-Bhutan relation
was initially one in which India was the donor and benefactor
and Bhutan the beneficiary of assistance for development.
"Bhutan has now reached a good level of development and
the nature of our relations is changing to one that is
mutually beneficial. A typical example of this is the mutual
collaboration on hydel power (projects)," he said.
In reply to a question, he said that Bhutan, which
aspires to be a 'green and sustainable economy,' was looking
for more Indian investments in Education, Health, Tourism and
IT-enabled services.
