Afghan drug trafficking - challenge for world in XXI century.

SKOPJE, October 3 (Itar-Tass) -- The drug trafficking, particularly
from Afghanistan, became a challenge for the world community in the
twenty-first century, Macedonian Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska
told Itar-Tass.
"The Macedonian law enforcement agencies combat strongly the
trafficking and sale of drugs through the so-called Balkan drug route,"
she said. "The lethal poison is being trafficked to the republic from
Afghanistan through Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria, and is being trafficked
further to Western Europe through Kosovo, Serbia or Albania," she pointed
out.
"The Macedonian Interior Ministry is cooperating actively with the law
enforcement agencies and security services in the Balkan Region, as well
as the European Union and the United States, under the tasks, which the
country's leadership set to fight drug trafficking," Jankulovska remarked.
"The fact that thousands of people are involved in this type of criminal
activities that brings the profit of billions of dollars is a major
problem," the minister underlined. "In this respect, our major goal is to
seal off drug trafficking channels to the country and the drug
distribution channels in the country," she said.
