Rebels say make limited advance in heavy street fighting in push for Bani Walid

TRIPOLI (A.A) - October 10, 2011 - Tolga Ozgenc, AA correspondent - Interim government forces in Libya have taken control of a number of streets in outer neighborhoods in Bani Walid, in what they say their final assault after a month-long seige on one of the two remaining strongholds of the oil-rich country's ousted leader, Moammar Gadhafi.
Ahmet Haruda, one of the commanders of the National Transitional Council forces in the front line some 170 kilometers south of Tripoli, told the Anadolu Agency on phone that NTC fighters made some gain in the heavy street fighting.
Gadhafi forces still control the city in the central mountains as NTC fighters have claimed that "the fall of Bani Walid is imminent."
