Sirte experiences severest moments of Libyan war

SIRTE (A.A) - October 10, 2011 - The city where Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi was born, Sirte, experiences the severest moments of war in Libya.
Sirte will provide psychological superiority over the winner of the war in Libya. Therefore, severest moments of the war are being experienced in Sirte.
The National Transitional Council (NTC) expects Sirte to fall as soon as possible to declare "salvation of the country."
You can climb on a water tank, only one kilometer away from Sirte, to see the siege of the city. It is possible to watch the Sirte siege from this spot like a war film.
Opponents are bombing the city mostly from the south front, which was opened by the rebels of Misurata. Before the war, the south front was a field cultivated by Gadhafi.
Gadhafi had constructed not only irrigation system but also shelters for animals.
There are soil barricades in the field, and soldiers hid themselves behind these barricades with light weapons. Lorries, on which heavy weapons are assembled, are mostly seen all around the field. These lorries are shuttling among the fronts.
When one of the lorries decelerated when it approached a barricade, it blew up. Two people survived the blast, and were taken to hospital immediately.
Opponent soldiers continue their daily life in the barricades. They have their meal on vehicles loaded with weapons, and they perform their daily religious ceremonies there.
