CRIMES INCREASE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ At the national level, 14,530 crimes were registered in the first nine months of 2011, reflecting an increase by 19 crimes or 0.1 per cent against the previous year.
This increase is caused by rise in crimes against rules of safety of traffic and use of motor vehicles (241), against social security (227), against children, family and social morality (62), against environmental protection rules (40), against administrative rules (39), crimes against judicial procedures (24). Nonetheless, there was a decline in crimes against the right of ownership (423), against human life and health (or physical well-being) (94), against population health (47), against economic entity (27), compared to the same period of previous year.
Du to these crimes committed, 5,907 people were injured and 899 died. The number of the injured increased by 732 people or 14.2 per cent, of the deaths decreased by 95 people or 9.6 per cent against the previous year.
