Haneef`s layers ask Aus police to disclose more documents

Melbourne, Oct 30 (PTI) Lawyers of Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef, accused of plotting a terror attack in UK last year, on Thursday sought for disclosure of more documents from Australian Federal Police (A.F.P.) in Queensland's Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

"It's hardly surprising that A.F.P. is resistant to disclosure of many documents," Lawyer Rod Hodgson said.

"Their submission to the Clarke Inquiry which was released last week is a document that demonstrates clearly that they're an organisation that is incapable of feeling accountable for the massive mistakes that appear to have been made," he added.

Hodgson said the documents they are seeking are important to ensure fare investigation of the case, an A.B.C .report said here.

"Any document that informs public about the reasons for Haneef being treated in the appalling and the way he has been treated is very important from the point of view of ensuring that our so-called premier police force is behaving as it should," he said.

Haneef's lawyers have already sought documents from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Department of
Immigration and Citizenship about the case. PTI
