Suicide bomber kills soldier, injures seven in Pakistan

Islamabad, Nov 4 (PTI) A soldier was killed and seven
others injured Tuesday when a suicide bomber struck at a check
post in a remote town in northwestern Pakistan.

The bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a
wall near the check post at Duaba town in Hangu district in
the North West Frontier Province this morning.

Eight security personnel were injured in the blast and
one of them died later in hospital, said a statement from the
army.

Police officials in the area said the body of the
bomber, a man in his thirties, had been recovered.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack sparked panic in the area and the local
market was closed.

The check post was set up in Doaba recently due to
sectarian violence in the area. PTI R.H.L.
