Requirements for social benefit support recipients are reinforced

Astana,4 December 2008, (Khabar) - The amendments to the law on employment and social benefit support are aimed at providing help by the government to those people who really need it. The bill has been approved by the Majilis, the lower house of the Parliament, at the plenary meeting today. According to the minister of labour and social security of the population Berdibek Saparbayev, the number of benefit recipients has increased dramatically lately. Within 10 months 235 thousand more people contributed to the growth of this number compared to 2007 and 30% of them are in fact able-bodied. The developers of the project tried to take measures against dependence in the project introduced in the Parliament. The unemployed people who refused job placement without a reasonable excuse will not receive social monetary support. In addition the issue the restoration of rights to receive the benefit by the unemployed from the day of obtaining a position or assigned for professional training has been considered as well.

Berdibek Saparbayev, minister of labour and social security of RK:
- We expect good results as we aim at expanding the availability of positions particularly for the able-bodied population who receive social support, through re-training and employment into more highly-paid jobs. Productive employment will be provided and social monetary support will be reinforced for those who are in need of support.

Today the national representatives voted for an early discontinuance of the work of deputy Erkanat Taizhanov the majilis member who gave up his mandate voluntarily.
